Wonderwool Wales is held annually on the last weekend in April at the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells, Powys LD2 3SY.
Opening hours are 10.00am until 5.30pm on Saturday and 10.00am until 4.30pm on Sunday.
Parking is on the lower showground and is free of charge.
There is a mini bus service from the car park to the halls, we ask for a donation to our chosen charities, the Wales Air Ambulance and Macmillan Cancer Support, in return for this service. The mini buses are running all day.
We have a policy of inclusivity & everyone is welcome at our event regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion or disability. We will not tolerate any situation where a visitor or exhibitor is made to feel unwelcome in any way.
We would prefer visitors to wear masks or visors if they are able to. Hand sanitizer units should be available at various points on the walls throughout the halls. Please think of others and give people space. If you have any covid symptoms or a positive test on the day please DO NOT come to the show.
We only allow Guide Dogs and registered Assistance Dogs into the halls and surrounding exhibition area. Dogs can be walked on the lower showground, but any deposits they make must be cleared up.
TICKETS will be available online in December, there will be a link added to the web site nearer the time. Cost of tickets for 2024 is £12.00 for day tickets & £22.00 for weekend tickets.
Woolschools can be booked online in advance, online booking closes 2-3 days before the show and any remaining places can then be booked on the day via the Information Desk. They are held in a separate building Hafod Y Hendre just up from the main halls.
There will be a photographer at the show taking images on our behalf of the show in general, stands & products. These images will be used by ourselves for social media, web site and magazine articles, they will be stored safely on the computer in our office. If you do not want images of yourself that may be taken by our photographer & PR Steward at the show used in this way, please notify the photographer at the time and also let us know either by email to bookings@wonderwoolwales.co.uk or by phone 01938 820495, otherwise images will be used in the manner previously noted.
If you wish to take photographs of people’s work at the show please ask them first as some exhibitors may not wish their work to be photographed. Thank you.
There is Disabled Parking near to the halls this is signposted on the road. If you do not have a Blue Badge but have mobility problems please enter the showground at the Public Parking entrance and let our Parking Stewards know, they will then radio through to the Stewards at the Disabled Parking and will redirect you to the Disabled Parking entrance, please do not go directly to the Disabled Parking entrance as you will not be admitted without authorisation from the Public Parking area steward.
The site is level and tarmac around the halls and disabled parking areas, there are ramps to the halls and the toilet blocks.
The layout is spacious allowing easy access for mobility scooters and wheelchairs.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide wheelchairs or scooters for the event. Your local Red Cross may have these for hire if you do not have them but require them for the show.
There are no ticket concessions at Wonderwool Wales but we do offer half price tickets for Carers accompanying a disabled visitor who has paid for a full price ticket. However we do need proof from the disabled person that the 1-1 carer is essential when purchasing tickets ie: either the front page of a DLA/PIP award letter, the front page of an Attendance Allowance letter, evidence that they are registered severely sight or hearing impaired, or the carer has a registered carer’s ID card, a Hynt card can also be used as proof but these do not entitle the carer or the disabled person they are accompanying to free entry. A Blue Badge is not sufficient proof. If you require a Carer’s ticket you will need to purchase a full price ticket and then come to the Show Office at the back of Hall 1 where we will give you a refund of half the ticket price.
Our Street Food area at the rear of Halls 1 and 2 offer a wide selection of freshly cooked food catering for various dietary requirements, including vegetarian, gluten free and vegan. Please discuss any allergies with the food vendors who will be more than happy to advise.
In all of the halls you will find plenty of coffee and tea outlets, also selling cakes and snacks, most will cater for the above dietary requirements, but again please discuss with the vendor.
There are no cash machines on the showground, the nearest is at the Co-Op store and garage just off the roundabout in front of the showground, there is also a cash machine in the high street. Man of our vendors do take card payments and we are hoping that some of our exhibitors will be happy to do ‘cash back’ and will mark them in our Show Directory.
The nearest rail station is Builth Road, approximately 1.5 miles from the showground. If you are coming by train we are happy to organise one of the mini buses to collect you and return you to the station as long as you contact us a few days before the event with your name, contact no. and time of train arrival. For information on train times and connections please refer to www.trainline.com Please note that trains do not always run to Builth Road station on Sundays.
There are several groups and coach companies organising trips to Wonderwool, as and when we receive information we will post on our facebook page so that you can contact the organiser direct. Of course you could always organise a trip with friends or group with your local coach company.
We have a list of local accommodation providers who have contacted us with their details however we have not inspected these so accept no responsibility. The Visit Wales web site has a good selection of accommodation that can be booked through their site www.visitwales.com
